💎 A Diamond in the Cornfield — Shoutout to Mike Molstead Motors 💎 I wanted to take a minute and give some well-deserved recognition to Mike Molstead Motors here in Charles City after the experience I had with them today. My 2011 Dodge Avenger needed a new catalytic converter. While looking into getting it fixed, I discovered there was actually a recall covering that specific issue. I called Molstead’s, they checked into it, and they got me scheduled. Now, I’ll admit something: I have this completely unwarranted fear of dealerships. 😂 I don’t know where it comes from, but in my head, if I’m not walking through the door ready to buy a brand-new Cadillac, I somehow don’t belong there. Well, Molstead’s proved me wrong about that from the minute I arrived. I was treated like I WAS there buying a brand-new Cadillac—and all I brought them was my 2011 Avenger and a recall. 😂 First, their new service area is impressive. State-of-the-art, incredibly clean, organized and quiet. It doesn’t have that chaotic “garage” feeling at all. You can tell somebody put a lot of thought and pride into creating that facility. More importantly, though, were the people. Shelby Reeser was one of the first people who helped me, and she was fantastic—friendly, helpful and made the whole process easy from the beginning. After I dropped the car off, my buddy gave me a ride home. Later I ran into a scheduling problem getting back to pick it up, and here came that little voice in my head again: Don’t bother them…don’t ask for too much… Then I remembered they have a complimentary shuttle service. So I called. No problem. No attitude. No making me feel like I was inconveniencing anybody. Just, essentially, “We’ll come get you.” And they did. I believe the two who came to get me were Elena and Chuck—and if I have either name wrong, I sincerely apologize—but they couldn’t have been nicer. They picked me up in a beautiful newer shuttle van, we had a great conversation on the way back, and they even explained some of the other courtesy services Molstead’s offers. I work at Zoetis, and they told me they can even arrange to pick up my vehicle from work for things like oil changes, service it, and bring it back. Now THAT is customer service. What probably impressed me most about the whole experience is that nobody there knew whether I was ever going to buy a vehicle from them. I wasn’t spending thousands of dollars today. I wasn’t buying a Cadillac. I was a guy with an older Dodge Avenger that needed recall work. And none of that changed the way they treated me. That’s something worth recognizing. People sometimes like to talk trash about small towns, including Charles City. But experiences like this remind me how many genuinely first-class people, businesses and services we have right here. From our medical community to our local businesses and, after today, definitely our car dealership—there are some damn good people in this town. Respect gets respect—but at Molstead’s, I didn’t even have to give it first. They met me at the door with it. So hats off to everyone at Mike Molstead Motors. Thank you for taking care of my car, but even more than that, thank you for the way you treated the guy who brought it in. And if the day ever comes when this 2011 Avenger finally convinces me it’s time for that brand-new Cadillac… I know exactly where I’m going. 😂 Thanks again, guys. You really are a diamond in the cornfield. 💎🌽

If harder work makes a diffrence it's worth it. I just thought $488.00 was alot for an hours work. I guess we were always pd. by hrs. worked. But I am 87 yrs. old and live in a MONEY is Americas God NOW. Live and learn. I could afford a 5 cents Ice cream cone. HA!!!

I brought my car in to have a minor problem looked at, and while I was there, I bought a truck from Mike Witham.

All members of the dealership were very easy to work with and very helpful. It was a very smooth transaction.

I like the fact that the facility is modern and always neat and clean. It tells me they are going to treat my vehicle the same. The personal present themselves in the same manner. They are knowledgeable and friendly. Never had to return my vehicle because it was not repaired correctly the first time.

It was all good made my appointment in person. They set it up for me. I brought the vehicle in. It was done in a timely matter, and I was very satisfied. I would recommend their service department to anyone.
